Learn more about Proposition 400

The $80 million proposal supports the J.O. Combs Unified School District and includes much needed safety and security improvements, facility upgrades, transportation improvements, site and athletic facility improvements, along with student educational support.

Invest in school safety

We need to continue to invest in school security to enhance our student and staff safety. Proposition 400 funds improvements to school sites to enhance safety and security  including secure entries, fencing, lockdown and emergency communication equipment, and other improvements. The continued safety and security of our students and staff should be our number one priority.

Protect our quality of life

Quality schools help protect your property values and reduce crime. Proposition 400 is our opportunity to continue to invest in our schools to ensure they have the modern facilities necessary to offer an excellent education that protects our quality of life.

Make critical repairs

We need Proposition 400 for renovations and upgrades to our classrooms as well as essential repairs in some of our aging schools including air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, renovations, and roof repair. We must continue to invest in safe schools that meet the 21st century educational needs of our students.

Support our schools – without raising taxes

Proposition 400 will allow the district to make needed repairs and modernize facilities without increasing the tax rate. This program is designed to make these important investments while maintaining the overall property tax rate equal to the current rate – no tax rate increase.
